This is the only single family on Lancaster Street.
It was built around 1890, and in the postwar era an addition was built on the front first and second floors.
The layout for the first floor is an open porch leading into a central hall way where the main staircase to the second floor is located.
The first floor has an open living room-dining room and a large kitchen. When I bought it in late August 2010, I painted the LR-DR light blue and added sheer panels in the LR-DR. It's pretty. I have tried to emphasize the woodwork wherever possible.
This picture is old. I used bright white for the ceiling and light bue for the walls. I ripped out the carpet to show off the wood in the floors.
It looks awesome if you saw it today!
The kitchen is a large one and has wooden cabinets, gas stove and full size fridge. The 1/2 bath is off the kitchen. (If I were to ever convert that bathroom into a 3/4 bath, I would add a shower there somewhere). At some point I want to add a deck off the kitchen and a sliding door from the kitchen to the deck.
The second floor has FOUR rooms. The two larger rooms (A and B) are over the living room-dining room. There are two side bedrooms that are considerably smaller. For legal reasons I advertise it as a THREE bedrooms. There is a full bathroom with an additional large closet off that bathroom.
In the cellar is a newer boiler and a washer-dryer. There is ample storage space as well.
The exterior is vinyl sided, vinyl windows and asphalt roofing. Some of the gutters need repair or a cleaning, but I wasn't able to get at them during the present tenants' stay there.
What i love about this place is the location, the convenience and that the previous owner invested a lot in energy efficiency (newer boiler, windows, siding).
